Artificial reef

August 21 • 2023 (Ongoing)

With the ambition to create the world’s largest multi-purpose artificial reef complex off the coast of Dubai, UAE, the Fisheries Regulating Committee (FRC) initiated the Artificial Reef Program. Teaming up with the specialist firm Haejoo EnC, they piloted the project. Haejoo designed and constructed 10 Fish Cubes (FC) and 40 Marine Pyramids (MP), forming Dubai’s first purpose-built offshore artificial reef on November 4, 2021. Four dive monitoring sessions were conducted between February and November 2022.
